We had a great time in Englewood! Working with over 40 students, we reached out to community members, offering them a free CFL for their porch bulb. We also provided information on free recycling services, and up to $6500 worth of free weatherization services.
During our community outreach days, all teams are supported by a volunteer cycling team. In Englewood, Colorado, Take Charge’s outreach day included a group of cyclists who are part of Groundwork Denver’s Green Team. The youth Green Team "rides the talk" by using bicycles to get from job to job. In early November 2010, they hit the 700 mile mark, collectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 3,500 lbs and burning 336,000 calories.

On Saturday, February 26, 2011, students from the Denver Center for International Studies High School, George Washington High School and the University of Colorado partnered with Fulbright Scholars from all around the globe to conduct outreach in the Baker Neighborhood of Denver. [
High school students traveled the East Side on Saturday, switching out porch lights and educating residents about energy efficiency.
