ENGLEWOOD

We had a great time in Englewood! Working with over 40 students, we reached out to community members, offering them a free CFL for their porch bulb. We also provided information on free recycling services, and up to $6500 worth of free weatherization services.

During our community outreach days, all teams are supported by a volunteer cycling team. In Englewood, Colorado, Take Charge’s outreach day included a group of cyclists who are part of Groundwork Denver’s Green Team. The youth Green Team "rides the talk" by using bicycles to get from job to job. In early November 2010, they hit the 700 mile mark, collectively reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 3,500 lbs and burning 336,000 calories.
