LOOKING FORWARD TO TAKING CHARGE! IN 2012

In 2012, Take Charge! will focus on working in rural communities, conducting outreach and awareness projects focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green jobs. We will offer:

· School Presentations/ Assemblies

· Civic engagment projects for youth

· Service learning activites for students

· Energy conservation and community outreach

· Public speaking at Colorado events

· Support for school energy challenges

Take Charge! is a Groundwork Colorado (GWC) project funded by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. To date, Take Charge! has engaged over 300 Colorado students that have reached out to over 10,000 Colorado residents, making significant measurable impacts. This project focuses on the Take Charge! civic engagement and service learning model. Youth participants are trained on the step-by-step process that Groundwork Colorado uses to engage students in community projects with environmental results. Students will learn about energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green industry trends in Colorado, and how they can get involved and/or create change in their communities.
